About Us

Our Story

We began in 1997 as a family-owned working farm on the foreshores of Lake Oberon.

In May 2017, we began our 2.5-year journey in building what is now known as ‘Lake Oberon Estate.’ Our aim was to create a memorable country experience, one that couples, families and friends would enjoy.

Finally, in March 2020, we were ready to open our doors to weddings, events, and celebrations. Since then, we have hosted numerous countryside events to guests from all walks of life.

It brings us great delight to invite guests to our countryside haven – one of which we have grown to love to dearly. We will endeavour to guide and assist you throughout your stay to ensure your experience is of one that your guests will remember forever.

We look forward to starting our journey together.

Kindest regards,

Julie & Tony

Surrounding Attractions

Our venue is located 7km south of Oberon, and on the foreshores of Lake Oberon. Placed on the western fall of the Blue Mountains, we offer you an array of beautiful, close-by places to explore.

Oberon is a cool climate town with snowy winters and cool summers. It’s a small town with a population of 2,500 people, boasting a great rural community spirit. Whether you are visiting as a couple, with family or a group of friends, you can experience the beautiful attractions surrounding our lovely town.

To help make your adventure exciting, we have hand-picked the top 10 things to do around Oberon.

Jenolan Caves: The magical, must-see destination in the Blue Mountains. It’s Australia’s most popular, family-friendly cave attraction.

Mayfield Garden: Australia’s largest privately-owned, cool climate garden in the world. A great place to stroll through 65-hecatres of beautiful landscape architecture. In the summer and spring, it’s the prime place for a picnic and café outing.

Wineries and Vineyards: Renzaglia Wines and Casey’s Vineyard (wine tastings by appointment only).

Mushroom Picking: One of Oberon’s most renown activities. Explore over 40,000 hectares of State owned pine forests in Hampton, Jenolan and Vulcan. The best time for this in autumn, following rain, as that is when the forest fungi emerge.

Oberon Town Activities: Nearby horse-riding, skateboard parks, golf, bushwalking, community swimming pool, gym and tennis court.

Canoe and Kayaking: Public access to this spot is through Reef Reserve, off Abercrombie Road, where there is vehicle and trailer boat access to the water’s edge.

Fossicking: Start your search for gold, sapphire and zircon at Sapphire Bend (Black Springs), Liver River fossicking reserve (Porters Retreat) and Campbell’s River Crossing.

Oberon Town Attractions: Oberon Military Museum, Oberon District Museum, Oberon Tarana Heritage Railway and the Skoda Tatra Museums.

Oberon Town Community Events: Local Arts and Crafts, monthly produce & farmers markets

Fishing in Oberon: When staying at Lake Oberon Estate, you have access to our own private fishing point. It’s the best place in Oberon to go fishing for Rainbow Trout and Golden Perch. Other public fishing spots include Kelly’s Bay, Reef Reserve and Oberon Dam’s Picnic area.
